Advancement through Engineering Innovation, Energy Efficiency and Renewables

Bangkok— June 3, 2009 Headed by the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), in association with Bangkok Exhibition Services Co Ltd (BES), and supported by the leading electrical and energy trade Associations, The E5 Engineering Series2009 will be taking place between June 18 - 20 this year at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC).

Strongly focusing on efficiency, safety and cost-effectiveness, the main objective of this event is to provide a pathway to sustainable energy management using today’s most advanced technology available.

The E5 Engineering Serieshas grown to be Indo-China’s biggest and most comprehensive biennial energy event, encompassing total energy solutions for industrial automation, electrical and energy efficiency, and plant safety that are dominating the investment in the region's manufacturing growth.

Apart from MEA, many electrical and energy trade Associations have been granted support for the event, including Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT); Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA); Department of Industrial Works: Ministry of Industry (DIW); Bangkok Fire & Rescue Department Bangkok (BMA); Air-Conditioning Engineering Association of Thailand (ACAT); Illumination Engineering Association of Thailand (TIEA); Thai Mechanical and Electrical Design and Consultant Association of Thailand (MECT); Thai Electrical and Mechanical Contractors Association (TEMCA); The Building safety Inspectors and Officers Association (BSA); Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB); and Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT).

MEA Governor Mr. Pornthape Thunyapongchaisaid, “The E5 Engineering Serieswill showcase the latest in energy technology for all related sectors, from supply and demand side management, distribution and transmission, lighting engineering and control, alarm and safety systems to maintenance. In addition, it will surely provide an unprecedented learning platform for engineers, contractors, system integrators, entrepreneurs, buildings inspectors as well as the interested public to share their views on various energy subjects. Most importantly, it means to Thailand’s energy engineering industry a continuing drive for 360° development, both in terms of hardware that involves state-of-the art technology and efficiency, and software that virtually stresses on nurturing human resources to be qualified and able to keep up with the rapid changing world.”

He continued, “In addition to showing electrical engineering innovations, MEA will also organize an energy exhibition and a series of seminars on power safety, energy efficiency, demand side management (DSM) and underground cable systems for high-performance power transmission within Bangkok’s urban areas.”

Bangkok Exhibition Services Ltd. Managing Director David Aitken said, “With rising energy prices, companies are looking for the most effective cost-reduction strategy. For one, cost effectiveness can be achieved through applying the right technology solutions to their specific needs. As one of the region’s most prestigious engineering events, The E5 Engineering Series will certainly provide solutions to improve efficiency, reduce cost and increase safety and to lead to energy sustainability.”

The E5 Engineering Series 2009 will co-locate with ProPak Asia 2009, featuring a vast array of electrical and energy innovations, coupled with a complete range of advanced manufacturing and packaging equipment and supplies. The co-location is expected to attract more than 30,000 visitors.

According to Kecha Thirakomen, President of the Thai Mechanical and Electrical Design and Consulting Association (MECT), The E5 the Engineering SeriesConference on “Advancement through Energy Innovation, Energy Efficiency and Renewables” will also be held to provide engineers and attendees with updates and trends in energy management.

Topics for discussion at the conference include Common Engineering Mistakes, How to Increase Efficiency in Power Systems, Energy-effective Lighting Engineering and Control, Plant Security.

The conference will be held by MEA (Metropolitan Electricity Authority), in conjunction with TEMCA (Thai Electrical & Mechanical Contractors Association), TIEA (Illumination Engineering Association of Thailand), MECT (Thai Mechanical & Electrical Design & Consultant Association of Thailand) and BSA (The Building Safety Inspectors and Officers Association).

E5 the Engineering Serieswill be organised by Bangkok Exhibition Services and held on June 18-20, 2009 from 10.00am to 06.00pm at BITEC Bangna.
